About VAST Cooperative & the Snoqualmie Valley Region

Our Place & Community

Nestled in the Snoqualmie Valley, Carnation, Washington is a small town surrounded by farms, family homesteads, rivers, and forested terrain. Originally incorporated in 1912 under the name Tolt, the town was later renamed to "Carnation" after the dairy company that operated in the region.

While farm sizes vary, many are small to mid-scale operations raising vegetables, berries, specialty crops, or livestock. One of the more well-known working farms in the area is Remlinger Farms, a ~350-acre farm that combines agriculture with public attractions and seasonal events. Historic farms such as the Hjertoos Farm (~24 acres) and the Adair Farm (~115 acres) also reflect the valley's agricultural heritage. The Snoqualmie Valley Farmers Cooperative (23 member farms) helps local farms pool produce and reach markets together.
